I¡®ve used this tool a few times so far for mounting control boxes to drywall and they're holding up fine. Easy to use, I bypassed the standard mollys and used the pointed tip mollys eliminating the need to drill a hole first, speeds up the install.

Until now when I used a Molly Bolt, I tightened the bolt to draw to expand the anchor flanges behind the wall. This has been problematic as the anchor casing can twist and come loose in the wall. The AKKTOL setting tool is the perfect solution for inserting and expanding the anchor. The system comes in its own case which is handy for keeping it all together.

This is a well made tool that works very well for installing Hollow Wall Anchors. It appears to be well made of all metal with the exception of the plastic grip covers which are comfortable on the hands. The Tool and associated Anchors come packaged in a sturdy plastic case. It includes an assortment of M4, M5, and M6 Anchors of varied lengths from 32mm to 65mm. The tool is quite easy and intuitive to use, however you need to make sure that when using M4 or smaller Anchors the head is placed all the way back into the V shaped jaws otherwise they will slip out of the jaws when pressure is applied on the handle. Great product!

Wow is this product boxed and made to last in anyone¡®s shop. A truly great gift to any home owner. This tool is highly recommended for fastening anything on a hollow wall interior wall surface with 6mm and up fasteners. The only problem is the jaws do not correctly grasp the smaller diameter ¡°molly" bolts. You can still use the smaller 4mm and 5mm if you first use the correct size drill bit and then by hand push the smaller fastener into the drywall and set the small anchoring blades by manually pushing them and locking into the surface of the drywall. Then by hand carefully turn the Phillips #2 head screwdriver and expand the behind-the-wall "umbrella" of the fastener - and then Voila! You are ready to mount your TV or anything else.

Maybe it was operator error but for the life of me I could not figure out how to use this. I installed iron pipe shelf brackets on my wall to hang clothes and one got bumped into and the whole thing fell to the floor. The flanges have 4 screw holes and for me was impossible to get this tool to work.

I am currently in the process of remodeling my house, and I had a whole bunch of new pictures that I needed to hang. I¡®m not a big fan of using the plastic anchors. While they do work, they don't seem to be as secure and are not the most efficient way to hang some heavier items when you are dealing with a hollow wall space. I came across the Akktol Hollow Anchor Setting Tool and decided to give it a try. Overall, it is a very nice tool. It was easy to use and an efficient way to set molly bolts in place. Highly recommend based on the following:- The kit comes with a nice storage box. The front of the storage box allows you to store the anchor setting tool. The back side holds a nice assortment of different size molly bolts, which were included with the kit.- The instructions were easy to read and follow, significantly reducing the amount of time needed to get past the learning curve.- The tool appears to be well made and is easy to use. I practiced with a M4 molly bolt and a scrap piece of drywall by (1) drilling a 1/4 hole, (2) Inserting the molly bolt, (3) unscrewing the screw just enough to attach to the anchor setting tool, (4) and squeezing the trigger. It was easy as that. As you can see from the front and back of the drywall picture, the molly anchor was securely set in place without any issues. It worked exactly as described.

All my walls are drywall so you have to use these to stop the drywall from stretching & dropping anything that is hung without the anchors. Good value for you coins. Hope this helps, Ann 🙂

Once I watched the video to figure out exactly how to load this, it worked amazingly. I had to slow the video down a lot. Placing the nail head in the crevice of the tool until you feel it holding it then letting the tool not only push into the wall, but also push the spark edges into the wall to help also anchor it from the outside. Pretty amazing tool.

I use this product to mount pictures on drywall. What I did not like about this product the tool would not grip the screws with the smaller head.. so even though there are various size screw in the kit ..it only work with some screws

I am a contractor and I know my tools when they are junk and when they are of descent quality or outstanding quality. This little kit falls into the above descent quality for the price. The plastic case holds the tool and an assortment of anchors that came with the kit. The tool has some weight to it and if its not thrown around a tool kit but kept in the case with the anchors it will last a lifetime. The anchors that come with the tool are metric and you will need to drill out the hole with the proper size bit (In the instructions). Then you insert the anchor into the drilled hole and push it all the way in flush. You then loosen the screw enough to slip the tool between the wall and the back of the screw head. Push the tool all the way so the screw sits all the way down in the V groove. Squeeze the handle and it will then pull the screw and the internal part of the anchor towards the back/inside of the wall and the anchor will be secure. Make sure to choose the right anchor as some have a much deeper reach Or a much shallower reach for thick walls like cinder block and thinner walls like 1/2¡± or 5/8th¡± drywall. Bottom line is i used it to install a few screws for picture hanging with frames that have a wire and frames with the center tooth mount. I used my SAE drill bits for speed and it worked fine.

I had a couple of heavy duty arched mirrors that needed to be hung but I wasn¡®t sold on the provided screws & anchors. When I stumbled across this gaget- I was excited & hoping it would give extra hanging security. Before I started to use ¡ª I practiced with a few screws. At first, I didn't think it was working ¡ª I couldn't get it to work. Just before I gave up, I wanted one more try. This time, I gave it more muscle pulling back the trigger. After that, it was a breeze installing the screws. One mirror I was hanging weighs approx 35lbs & with these screws, I feel like my mirror is hung safely. The only thing I wish, is if this kit came with more average size screws.Overall, I'm very satisfied with this gaget and it's a nice addition to my growing tool collection.Very easy to use with some muscle ??

I should admit I didn¡®t know such tool existed since I've always relied on the screwing in action to collapse the molly anchor on itself then squeezing it against the back of the wall. Now I understand the importance and appreciate the existence of this tool, mainly because of the few failed anchors I encountered in the past and knowing the inconvenience and pain they present when they fail behind the wall. This tool ensures they collapse evenly on all sides, making a strong grip on the sheetrock. It has an action and function somehow similar to a tie wrap gun.I like the fact it comes in a nice storage case with various molly sizes. This makes it handy when time calls for it to be used. I also appreciate the all metal construction instead of plastic.5 stars

This tool works well on the larger screw sizes, but the M4 screw heads are a bit too small for this tool. The heads slip out, making it difficult to exert enough force to collapse the fins.It works great on the larger screw, though. It makes installing these types of fasteners very easy, and they¡¯re a lot more secure than plastic drywall anchors.

The original brand name for this type of drywall anchor was ¡°Molly". I suspect the patent expired long ago, so many clones of these are now sold. I¡®ve used them for years with mostly good results. The typical problem I have had is when the outer cage spins in the wall instead of the inside collapsing as it is suppose to. This tool solves that problem! You use a plier-like hand action to collapse the cage instead of counting on the screw action to do the job. What a simple idea, but it works perfectly. I set six anchors with this tool yesterday with a 100% success rate. The anchors included with this kit are good-enough. Not great, but useable. The threads are metric, which isn't an issue for most applications, but might catch you off guard if you are using them in US households.I'm so glad to have this solution to a problem I've dealt with off-and-on for many decades!

If you¡¯re like me, I¡¯ve ruined a ton of anchors by stripping screws or bending them out of shape. This hardly little tool lets you expand the anchors without the worry of creating a huge hole with a useless anchor. This is important since a lot of anchors are very cheaply made. I¡¯ll never go without one of these agin when installing anchors.

This tool works great to easily set molly bolt securely in walls made of plaster or drywall. It makes the anchors secure quickly. I only had issues with the smallest molly bolts that come with it. I love that it comes with multiple sizes of Molly bolts and that it has a case that organizes everything well. The instructions that give me the hole sizes to drill are a bit useless because they talk about the ¡°M" sizes of the Molly bolts, but the bags bolts come in are labeled without the "M" sizes listed.I am very happy with this tool. I am not knocking off a star for the minor issues I mentioned. I give this tool 5 stars as it is going to be my go-to tool for setting Molly bolts in the future.

My son and I had 3 separate projects, so we tried to arrange them to do all similar work at the same time. Panels on an old dune buggy restoration, old motorcycle rebuild, and some portable shelving. I had never used a rivet nut tool, but my son said we needed to get one. The learning curve was pretty much instant. We had about 60 blind holes in removable panels to panels, and panels to frame; connections for cycle parts where we didn¡®t want to use nuts; and each connection on the shelving needed removable connectors. The Akktol was best for the blind holes, since it avoided the various time consuming alternatives. The shelving use will forever omit the dropped and lost nuts, and the need for 2 wrenches to unbolt each one. The cycle didn't really need the rivet nuts, it was just a novel way to make various connections and will again omit the need for multiple wrenches. The Akktol saved us many hours of work, and we were able to move on to other aspects of the projects. The blind hole time savings alone were worth the price of the tool. I've made countless things, for want of better words, over the years, and don't know how I got along without the tool for so long. Looking back, I've wasted a lot of hours by not having this. I now know what to get my brother for Christmas.

I couldn¡¯t figure out how to use it in the instructions were very poor so I asked my son and he couldn¡¯t figure it out either so I returned it. I then went to the hardware store and got some hollow wall anchors and just put them in without the tool and the shelf held up just fine. So much for fancy tools that don¡¯t work!

Works very well, except that molly bolts with small heads tend to slip and you need to add a washer to get it to work. Has definitely made my life easier for anchors in hollow walls. I do wish it was made in the US.

Easy to set up and insert Rivnut but in our last 2 inserts my son got a little strong armed and went past ¡°0¡± on gauge and broke mandrel. Easily replaced. And easy to remove a goof and retry. Have used since with no issues. Solves a lot of fastening issues with a professional look. We used to install ¡°L¡± tracks.

I just used this to install 4 10/32 rivnuts and while it is a bit tricky to set up, I just ignored the instructions and used it by feel.I used to use rivnut tools in the aerospace industry so I know how they work and I got the feel of how much squeeze to apply for a good fit, so I ignored the indicator. This tool seems to be built ok. But the feel of the tool seems a bit cheap. Like it just will not last for the long haul. Fortunately I wiil be only using it as a hobbyist, so light duty might make it last as long as I do.
